Organist/Accompanist OR Combination Organist/Hand Bell Choir Director
Messiah is seeking a part-time organist to start immediately for traditional worship. Responsibilities include selection of hymns/music appropriate for the liturgical season and supporting worship themes, accompanying the Wednesday evening choir rehearsal and soloists, availability for weddings and funerals (additional compensation), and collaboration with choir director and Director of Worship required. The proficient player will serve 10 hours/week and oversee the maintenance of organ and sanctuary Yamaha G3 piano. Allen digital 3 manual ADC 8000 organ is the current instrument. Nursery Caregivers
Messiah United Methodist Church is seeking 2-3 quality, loving caregivers to take care of children ages 6 weeks to 3 years of age in our Church nursery. This part-time position offers a maximum of 8 hours per week. This is a perfect second job with all hours being on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and occasionally additional opportunities during special events. Competitive hourly compensation is offered in a great atmosphere.

Employment Requirements:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Hold a high school diploma, its equivalent or higher.

  • Comfortable conversing with people including difficult conversations.
  • Dependable and prompt in attendance, and responsible about carrying out the duties set forth.
  • Respectful of the authority of the Director of Children and Family Ministry and Messiah’s Pastors.
  • Able to establish and maintain relationships of respect, trust and cooperation with co-workers.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to work with active children.
  • Willing to take classes to improve job skills, including CPR and First Aid.
  • Able to easily lift 40 lbs.

Elementary Para/Caregiver
Messiah United Methodist Church is seeking a quality, loving caregiver to help manage a classroom of children ages 4 to 11 years of age in our church elementary program. The program is run by church staff and volunteers. This position is specifically for assisting the teachers with a few, high energy, yet loving kids. The classroom size averages 10-15 children. This would be a great job for someone working on their Elementary teaching degree, as this offers great extra experience working with fabulous children.
